THE producers of Blue Planet II have been caught in a faking row over hundreds of plastic ducks they planted in the sea for filming.
A segment of the hit wildlife show featured the ducks bobbing in the Pacific off Costa Rica.
Narrator David Attenborough told the story of 7,000 plastic toys which washed overboard from a ship during a 1992 storm and were still being found all over the world’s oceans.
But fans took to Twitter to complain the filmmakers had created the impression they spent months hunting down the ducks.
Jon Schwarm wrote: “You can’t tell me you didn’t put those rubber ducks in the sea yourself. Not buying that one.”
Sam Archer joked: “So whose job was it to follow the yellow ducks around for 15 years then?”
