I’m happy to announce that Rosanne Saccone has joined Planet as our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Rosanne is a seasoned strategic marketing executive and leader with over 25 years of results-driven marketing and management experience in the high tech industry.
Rosanne is joining Planet at a critical time as the company continues to grow its business and execute on its product and industry vision. Leading an already strong marketing team, Rosanne will help Planet continue to scale, accelerate revenue growth, and amplify our presence as a market leader in the technology and aerospace sectors. She is metrics-driven and recognized for building and leading organizations with creative, best-of-breed campaigns and execution.

Prior to joining Planet, Rosanne was CMO at Bluejeans Network, the world’s leading provider of interoperable video communication. While there, she led the effort to build an integrated end-to-end marketing and sales development approach to drive growth in the enterprise video conferencing segment. Her team sourced over 60 percent of active net new sales pipeline and re-invigorated the BlueJeans brand.
Before working at Bluejeans, she spent five years as CMO at Pentaho Corp (now Hitachi Vantara), a market leader in enterprise-class big data integration and business analytics. She helped the company transform from an SMB open-source BI company to an enterprise big data analytics company. During her time there, Pentaho grew 600 percent, helping the company maintain leadership in the highly competitive market of business analytics.
“I am thrilled to bring my expertise in marketing to lead such a vibrant and energetic team,” Rosanne says. “Our focus is to accelerate our ability to scale, and to communicate and amplify Planet’s mission to reach a diverse, global audience.”
Rosanne also held marketing leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard and BEA Systems. Rosanne received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and her MBA from the University of Virginia’s The Darden School.
It’s clear that Rosanne will bring a powerful combination of expertise, passion and leadership to the marketing team, and we’re excited to capitalize on her creativity and strategic mindset to build our business.
Following our announcement last week that Wendy Tan White has joined our board, the addition of Rosanne continues Planet’s commitment to strong and diverse leadership.
