Volunteers get back to work on the Planet Playground project - WTOK

Meridian, Ms. (WTOK) - Volunteers returned to the Planet Playground Build Site Friday and the group needs your help to finish the job by next week.

The project has been stalled this month by rain and storms. But the sun was back today and so were the volunteers. Organizers said they are looking to be finished by Monday, March 18th. Volunteers are still needed to complete the project. Coordinator Julia Norman said there is a job for everyone, so come volunteer and lend a helping hand.

“Our site conditions are much better than they were,” said Norman. “We do not expect any rain between now and Monday evening. So that is something we are excited about. We are blessed to have this sunshine this time.”

“This playground is very special to us,” said Volunteer, Aneesa Singh. “We are excited to have an opportunity for all children to come out to play and be outdoors.”

The Crews are working from 8 am to 8:30 pm.
