“Flat Earthers” are planning to go on a bizarre journey to Antarctica to prove that Earth is not a spherical planet.
The expedition, which will reportedly take place next year, is being organized by the Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC), and there’s limited information available on it, the New York Post reported. Logan Paul, a famous YouTube star who recently teased a documentary trailer on the famous conspiracy theory, is also reportedly interested in the trip.

Here’s what we know about the Flat Earth trip: In 2020, the “Flat Earthers” aim to sail to Antarctica to locate the ice wall that they believe marks the edge of our planet. This “frozen barrier” is said to tower 164 feet high, be a couple of thousands of feet thick, and surround Earth.

“If you take a globe and you squish it down, the Antarctic would go all the way around the Earth. It’s kind of like an ice shore and it’s very, very large. It’s not like you just go there and you can just peek over it,” Robbie Davidson, FEIC’s founder, told Forbes. “We don’t believe anything can fall off the edge, because a big portion of the flat earth community believes that we’re in a dome, like a snow globe.”

Despite this Flat Earth perspective, many sailing experts have pointing out that the “Flat Earther” cruise ship will use navigational devices that are based on the planet’s spherical shape. GPS systems use many satellites that orbit the planet and pinpoint each other’s location to help sailors get to their destinations. Henk Keijer, a veteran cruise ship captain, told The Guardian that, “I have not encountered one sea captain who believes the Earth is flat.”
The FEIC has not provided comment on the Flat Earth cruise or how it will execute its upcoming Antarctica expedition.
