Planet outside our solar system could support life - WTVY, Dothan

Outer Space (CBS News) -- Our partners at CNET report citizen scientists have spotted an unusual planet that *might* support life.

The NASA Kepler mission has discovered 219 more exoplanets, including 10 Earth-size planets, program scientist Mario Perez said Monday at NASA's Ames Research Center in California.

It's in the so-called 'Goldilocks Zone' in space.

Amateur volunteers found "K2-288-Bb", an exoplanet which is outside our Solar System.

Using their own eyes, they looked at light-curve data from NASA's Kepler Space Telescope that computer algorithms missed.

Liquid water might exist on the exoplanet's surface.
