On Tuesday, Barr tweeted to Jarrett that she was sorry for "making a bad joke" about her politics and her looks. Jarrett, who is African-American, advised Barack and Michelle Obama.

ABC released a statement Tuesday, May 29, calling Barr's statement on Twitter, "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values."

Comic Wanda Sykes, who is a consulting producer on "Roseanne," tweeted that she would not be returning to the show after Barr's tweet.

Tuesday night, ABC was originally going to air a Roseanne re-run, but has replaced it with "The Middle."

A publicist for Viacom says its cable networks including Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT will also pull Roseanne from their respective schedules as of Wednesday.

The original Roseanne is also being removed from the Laff Network.
