Who wrote the Blue Planet II music?

Radiohead and Hollywood composing legend Hans Zimmer have helped score the programme, which promises to be even more dramatic than the first.

Together they have created a new piece of music called Ocean (Bloom), which is a reworking of Radiohead’s song from their The King of Limbs album in 2011.

Zimmer has created the theme and score alongside Jacob Shea and Dave Fleming, who are his co-composers in music production company Bleeding Fingers.

How was Radiohead’s song Bloom reworked for the soundtrack?

It was announced in September 2017 that Radiohead and Zimmer would be working on an orchestral version of the band's song Bloom.

Bloom first featured on Radiohead's 2011 album The King Of Limbs.

Frontman Thom Yorke said: "Bloom was inspired by the original Blue Planet series so it's great to be able to come full circle with the song and re-imagine it for this incredible landmark's sequel."

The seven-part documentary sequel comes 20 years after the original series, which set out to explore the deepest and darkest realms of the world's oceans.
