Planet Fitness will celebrate its new facility in Milford with a ribbon-cutting, lunch and giveaways Jan. 10.
But you won’t have to wait until the gym’s grand opening to start getting into shape. The club, located at 161 S. Milford Road, will be open for business at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30 and will remain open 24/7.
“There is a ton of equipment and space,” said Mary Scott, Planet Fitness Michigan Group director of marketing. “If you’re thinking about it (joining), now is the time. The basic membership is $10 a month and the Black card membership is $21.99 and comes with the amenities and access to the spa.”
The spa area features massage chairs, HydroMassage beds, tanning beds, and Total Body Enhancement booths.
The startup fee is $1 through Jan. 10.
“You can work out on your own and we have trainers, too,” Scott said.
The Milford club is the 39th Planet Fitness location owned and operated by Northville-based Planet Fitness Michigan Group. Franchise owners Brian and Laura Rief operate Planet Fitness clubs throughout southeastern Michigan, in central Michigan, Grand Rapids, and Toledo, Ohio. The company is committed to providing a comfortable, non-intimidating workout environment.
The Michigan Group constructed its newest club in a vacant building that formerly housed a Farmer Jack store. The 30,000-square-foot club includes cardio and strength equipment, a PF Express training unit, and a PF360 multi-function training unit.
The grand opening runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10. A ribbon-cutting will kick off the grand opening celebration at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 10, followed by a strolling lunch.
The first 100 attendees will receive a giveaway, and each will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a one-year Planet Fitness Black card membership and a 42-inch television.
