Self-styled Nibiru expert and film producer Yuval Ovadia said the strange image was tangible evidence of Nibiru or Planet X.
In the disclosure yesterday he even went further and blasted other Nibiru truth seekers attempts at proving the myth, saying most footage or images revealed by them so far were fake or inaccurate.
The Nibiru or Planet X theory is that a mini solar system consisting of a sun, planets and moons is lurking on the edge of our solar system with a huge orbit of the sun.
Nibiru believers are convinced the "rogue system" is making its way from the outer solar system inwards, where it will wreak havoc on Earth as it passes at about four million miles away.
They say the planet will cause the poles to switch, sparking great earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Believers now claim it will be on an approach path with the earth between November 20 and December 20.
With approach dates from September and October already coming and going, most people are reassured it is just a hoax.
However, Mr Ovadia insisted the danger is real and says this short clip is genuine evidence of the mythical system.
Italian Scott Brando is a paranormal debunker, who forensically examines images and videos released his verdict on website ufoofinterest.org.
He analysed the video released by Mr Ovadia and ridiculed his claims.
Mr Brando said the bright object was nothing more than a standard plane's contrails being backlit by the sun.
He tweeted his view with a GIF video showing a contrail being lit from behind with the same deep orange colour.
He said: "Well of course we are just seeing a contrail at sunset like this."
It is not the first time a sunlit plane contrail photograph has been put forward as evidence of something it is not, such as a UFO, or meteor entering earth, and Mr Brando and others have previously debunked these.
It appears Mr Brando is not alone in his conclusion.
Several people took to twitter to round on Mr Ovadia.
Robert Lockwood tweeted: "Also debunked as being just a plane."
A Twitter user with the name Joe Sixpack added: "Even more chilling! See how it disguises itself to look EXACTLY like an airplane contrail?! Sneaky #NIBIRU!"
Karl Stankiewicz said: "Seen these since childhood. Contrails around sunset show up like this depending on angle of view."
Steven Callaghan tweeted: "That's a fast moving mini system... Good grief."
Scores of videos and images which have been alleged to show Nibiru have already been posted online and later debunked as nothing more than lens flares from the camera or reflections.
NIBIRU TRUTH? Claims of Nibiru coming could be plane crazy.
Well of course we are just seeing a contrail at sunset like this.
Despite this, many, including Mr Ovadia, who claims to have spent years studying the mythical planet, continue to claim it is coming.
Mr Ovadia had bragged of his video: “After checking for many years the videos and photos taken of Nibiru/Planet X I can say that most of the material out there on the net is either fake, illusion, a natural effect or technical effect.
“Although, within the 90 per cent that are irrelevant, there are about 10 per cent of videos/photos that are real.
“Therefore, lately I can only put my hands on videos/photos taken by myself or other friends, of which I know and count on.”
He revealed his latest image claiming it was proof of Nibiru supposedly visible over the skies of Jerusalem.
Mr Ovadia said it was one of the first “meteors” trailing off from Nibiru and falling towards the Earth.
He added: “The fact is that my friends and I are seeing Nibiru with our own naked eyes.
NIBIRU PROOF? A still from the video put forward as evidence of Planet X (right).
“For the past year we took at least 10 videos and photos of it on different occasions. It is there, no doubt, and it is getting closer.”
The Nibiru myth emerged in 1976, when writer Zecharia Sitchin claimed that two ancient Middle Eastern cultures – the Babylonians and Sumerians – told of a giant planet – Nibiru – which orbited the Sun.
NASA insists that conspiracy theorists like Mr Ovadia are completely wrong, and the Nibiru myth is an internet hoax.
NASA scientist Dr David Morrison said: "There is no credible evidence whatever for the existence of Nibiru.
“There are no pictures, no tracking, no astronomical observations.
"I can quite specifically say how we know Planet X or Nibiru does not exist and does not threaten Earth.
“Firstly, if there was a planet headed into the inner solar system that was going to come close to the Earth, it would already be inside the orbit of Mars, it would be bright, it would be easily visible to the naked eye - if it was up there it would be easy to see it, all of us could see it."
Space boffin Dr Brian Cox has also insisted Planet X does not exist.
And associate Professor Jonti Horner, an astronomer at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, said: "I’ve never heard of anybody who’s an actual astronomer talk about Nibiru before.
"It’s basically an urban myth — it’s like having a biologist coming out and talking about werewolves and the Sasquatch being real. You just wouldn’t hear it.”
Express.co.uk has contacted Mr Ovadia and asked him to comment on suggestions he produced a plane contrail as evidence of Nibiru and awaits a response.
