'Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet' Renewed at Animal Planet (Exclusive)

The show, which returns Sept. 30, ranks as the network's most-watched series of the year among total viewers.

Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet is getting another season at Animal Planet.

The show, which centers on Dr. Jeff Young and his staff at Planned Pethood Plus as they take care of animals in need, has been greenlighted for a fourth season. It will premiere at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The season premiere finds the new clinic bustling as Dr. Jeff and his team work tirelessly to save a Labrador retriever, who, after eating a tool belt, has leather and metal in his stomach; a cat who returned home with a broken leg after going missing for 18 months; and a tiny pregnant dog who faces life-threatening complications while trying to deliver her puppy, among other stories. 

The team also takes a trip to a Denver homeless shelter, Sox Place, to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for the resident’s pets.

In addition, Dr. Jeff and his team will travel to international locations that include Mexico and Romania to provide much- needed medical services to animals in need.    

Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet is Animal Planet's most-watched series of 2017 among total viewers, averaging 1.3 million. It also is the No. 2 series among women 25-54 (236,000) for the year. 

Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet is produced for Animal Planet by Double Act, where Alastair Cook is executive producer and Penny Fearon is showrunner. For the network, Lisa Lucas is executive producer and Patrick Keegan is supervising producer. The series was developed by Animal Planet’s Kurt Tondorf.
